ABOUT THE GENERAL CAMPAIGN

The General Campaign brings together Jews from Mercer and Bucks counties to develop meaningful connections to the Jewish community locally, in Israel and throughout the world.

The Campaign is a mechanism by which significant dollars are raised within the Jewish community to help realize important Jewish values— tzedakah and tikkun olam. Participation in the General Campaign furthers the mission of the Jewish Federation to preserve, secure, and strengthen Jewish life and values in our community, the State of Israel, and throughout the world.

The General Campaign is governed by the General Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Within the General Campaign, the Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks sponsors a number of events that bring together our community. We invite you to attend as many as you can and look forward to seeing you.

EVENTS

Campaign Kick-off Event

Each fall, the community comes together at an annual fundraising dinner that attracts  200-250 people and raises approximately $500,000. The evening features a keynote speaker. Past speakers have included: Senator Robert Menendez, John Loftus, Steve Roberts, Alan Dershowitz, Dennis Ross and Steve Emerson. This year's Kick-off event will be held at Greenacres Country Club on October 17, 2010. Stay tuned for information.

Community Super Sunday
Each year, our community comes together for one exciting day to fulfill the mitzvah of tzedakah, or giving, by calling thousands of households to raise important dollars. This year's Community Super Sunday will be held at Rider University in Lawrenceville on November 21, 2010. Stay tuned for information.

Outreach Events
Throughout the year, members of the community open their homes for an evening of entertainment and enjoyment as a way to reach out and educate people about the work of Federation. Events have included wine sampling and dinner at Tre Piani; a wine and theatre performance featuring Joan Wolfberg, an actress who portrays Golda Meir; and an annual summer fiesta with music by Barry Wasserman.

General Assembly
Once a year, the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), organizes a comprehensive three-day General Assembly (GA) where attendees are exposed to the most stimulating and informative programming available within the Jewish community. Leaders from throughout the world, including prime ministers, presidents, congressional representatives, business executives and philanthropists come together in the name of Federation with the primary purpose of effectuating change and doing good within the international and national Jewish Community.
