On Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 7:30 pm, the East Windsor Beth El Synagogue Genealogy Club is sponsoring a discussion on ‘DNA and Jewish Genealogy’. With the cost of Genetic testing significantly decreasing, and with the size of DNA genealogy databases quickly growing, the use of DNA is rapidly becoming an important tool for aiding genealogical studies and for understanding history in general. In this talk, Dr. Len Baskin, who has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, discusses the properties of DNA that make it so useful for these purposes, and describes some examples of how he has used it in his own genealogical research. Beth El Synagogue is located at 50 Maple Steam Road, East Windsor NJ, 08520. Please call the Synagogue Office with any questions, (609) 443-4454; www.bethel.net.
