Hadassah Southern New Jersey Region Education Symposium & 2013 Trophy Awards Wednesday, April 30, 2014, 8:45am-3:00 pm Forsgate Country Club 375 Forsgate Drive Monroe Township NJ 08831 Israel @ 65: Focus on a Nation: Impact, Innovation, Invention & Introspection Keynote Speaker and Honored Guest National Hadassah President MARCIE NATAN Our Distinguished Speakers Deputy Consul General Shlomi Kofman coordinates the political work of the Consulate in the tri-state area, developing relations with national, state and local officials. He maintains regular contact with those following major foreign policy and strategic issues at think tanks and the elite universities. He acts as liaison for the Ministry with the National and Local leadership of the Jewish Community. In addition, he coordinates Inter-Faith dialogue and outreach nationally for the Foreign Ministry and its missions in the U.S. Prior to his current appointment, Kofman served as Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Israeli Minister of National Infrastructures, and as head of the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of National Infrastructures. Dr. Samuel Peleg specializes in negotiation processes and peace-building operations and has been a top advisor on leadership and negotiations to the Peres Center for Peace. In this capacity he had taken part in several rounds of peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians as well as Israelis and Jordanians. He has also counseled the Prime Minister’s office, the Foreign Office and the National Security Council. Currently, Professor Peleg serves as a Fellow and board member of The Martin Luther King- Realizing the Dream Foundation as well as serving on the advisory board of the Justice Project. In 2003, Dr. Peleg was a founding member of One Voice, an organization which promotes reconciliation between the various factions of the Israeli society as well as between Israelis and Palestinians. Dr. Clifton Lacy serves on the New Jersey Homeland Security and Preparedness Public Sector Advisory Council, directs the New Jersey Office of the International Center for Terror Medicine (affiliated with Hadassah Medical Organization in Israel), and chairs the Advisory Board of the New Jersey Center for Public Health Preparedness at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Gerald Ostrov is the CEO of “The reThink Israel” initiative focused on positively impacting American attitudes and beliefs toward Israel and Israelis via proactive professional communications. Jerry and his wife Aimee, former Hadassah Southern New Jersey Region President, were co-founders. Jerry most recently served as Chairman and CEO for Bausch & Lomb.
