On Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 7:00pm, the Beth El Synagogue Werner Lecture Fund presents Harlan Tuckman and Judy Spiegal in ‘The Conductor: Only in Terezin/Raphael’s Requiem’. The one act play, which Tuckman co-wrote with Gabor Barabas, is based on the true story of Jewish-Czechoslovak composer, pianist, and conductor Rafael Schachter, an organizer of cultural life in Terezin, the “model” concentration camp near Prague. It depicts his preparation of doomed choir members to perform Verdi’s Requiem for an audience of Nazi officials.

Harlan Tuckman is a seasoned actor, and director; having played many roles in comedies, dramas, and musicals. One of his more memorable roles was a recurring role on the NBC network drama Mr. Novak.
Judy Spiegel appeared off-Broadway and in Florida with Harlan in a comedy “Friends”.

This event will be held at Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor. Admission is free.

Beth El Synagogue is located at 50 Maple Stream Road, East Windsor, NJ; 609-443-4454;
