On Saturday, January 16, 2016, around 12:30 pm, the Beth El Synagogue Israel Affairs Committee presents guest speaker, Dr. Ghaidaa Hetou. Dr. Hetou will provide a short briefing followed by discussion regarding ‘Three Syrian Scenarios and What Each Means for Israel’.
The Syrian civil war is entering its sixth year with little hope for an ending to human suffering, and return to stability in the short term. Dr. Ghaidaa Hetou will discuss three possible outcomes of the current Syrian crisis and the enormous security, political and social implications of each on the State of Israel.
Dr. Ghaidaa Hetou is fluent in Arabic, English and German and she has lived in Germany, Syria and Saudi-Arabia. She has a BA and an MA in Economics, an MS in Global Affairs and she received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Rutgers University. She has presented at numerous academic conferences on Middle Eastern affairs. Her primary areas of expertise are Middle East Geopolitics, Geostrategic Analysis, Middle East Economics and Foreign Policies related to Syria, Iran, Iraq, the Arab States and Turkey.
This event will be held at Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor. Admission is free.
